BasX PT-100 Stereo Preamp / DAC / Tuner

Connections

Connecting a power amplifier to your PT-100
Because your PT-100 is a preamp, DAC, and tuner, you will probably be connecting it to a separate
power amplifier. Connect the Left and Right Main Outputs on the PT-100 to the unbalanced inputs
on your power amplifier using good quality audio interconnects.
Connecting line level analog input sources to your PT-100
Connect one or more stereo analog line level sources to the analog inputs on your PT-100 using
good quality unbalanced audio interconnects.
Connecting a turntable to your PT-100
If you have a turntable with a direct output, then it should be connected to the Phono Input on
the PT-100, and the Phono Input Gain Switch on the PT-100 should be set for the type of cartridge
you have. If your turntable has a separate ground wire, connect it to the Phono Input Ground Lug
on the PT-100.
Note: The manufacturers of some cartridges may specifically instruct you to use unusual
settings; for example, some moving coil cartridges may specify that you use the "moving
magnet" setting for proper output level. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Note: Some turntables have a built-in phono preamp and a line-level output. If so, then their
line level output should be connected to a line level input on the PT-100.
Connecting digital audio sources to your PT-100
Connect your digital audio sources to the appropriate inputs on the PT-100.
Note: The digital inputs on the PT-100 are designed to accept STEREO digital audio signals, and
will not work with encoded digital surround sound audio signals. Some of your source devices
may require you to configure them to deliver a stereo signal.
Connecting a trigger-enabled device to your PT-100
If your amplifier has a trigger input, you can configure your amplifier to automatically turn on
when you turn on your PT-100 by connecting a trigger cable between the Trigger Output of the
PT-100 and the Trigger Input on your amplifier. (You may need to configure your amplifier to work
with an external trigger.)
Line Voltage
The PT-100 can be powered by any receptacle that provides either 115 VAC or 230 VAC at 50/60
Hz. The PT-100 will automatically detect the correct line voltage, and the AC Power Voltage LEDs
will indicate which line voltage the PT-100 has detected.
