3 Threading the Upper Thread
Caution!
Switch off the main switch and remove your feet from the pedals on the machine support before
threading so that the machine may not be started by unintended treading on the pedal.
When threading the thread from bobbin stand into needle follow figure 1 for single needle
machine, or figure 2 for two-needle machine. The threads pass from bobbin stand to thread
guides on the machine head (A, B) through auxiliary tensioner and thread guide (C), through
tensioner (D), tension spring (E) and thread take-up lever to the needle. The thread enters the
eye from the side with a long groove. On two-needle machines threading should be carried out
according to figure 2 following the arrows (P and S).
