  • Page 3 GP-514-141 1 Safety Measures Do not put the machine into operation until an appropriate preparation is carried out by a specialist or an authorised person, and until you get acquainted with safety measures. 1. Any sewing machine may be operated only by a properly trained operator.
  • Page 4 GP-514-141 Putting the machine into operation Following instructions must be observed to avoid risk of failures or damage to the machine: - clean the machine of preserving agents - drop 1-2 drops of oil into looper - remove the front cover and oil the ends of needle bar connecting-rod and of the cross-head slide of thread take-up.
  • Page 5 GP-514-141 Threading the Upper Thread Caution! Switch off the main switch and remove your feet from the pedals on the machine support before threading so that the machine may not be started by unintended treading on the pedal. When threading the thread from bobbin stand into needle follow figure 1 for single needle machine, or figure 2 for two-needle machine.

Switch off the main switch and remove your feet from the pedals on the machine support before replacing the hook bobbin so that the machine may not be started by unintended treading on the pedal.
  • Page 8 GP-514-141 7 Adjusting Differential Feed Ratio (only for machines with driven presser foot) To ensure sewing of fabric layers without their displacement in the course of feeding it is possible to adjust different lengths of feeding driven by press-wheel and feeding by rotary feed dog.
  • Page 9 GP-514-141 The sewing machines are equipped with a safety clutch on the lower shaft (A) fig. 8 that allows the operator to turn the driving part of lower shaft (A) when the loopers or feed dogs are locked. The clutch consists of segment (B) engaging with.groove (C) in the disk on lower shaft by the pressure of two springs.
