Control by microprocessor with auto diagnosis displayed
- Circulation pump anti-blocking device
- First level anti- freeze (suited for internal installations)
Premix combustion system, which ensures a constant air/gas
proportion
Possibility to connect a room thermostat, a timer thermostat or
zone valves
- Climatic control function available with external probe connected
Possibility to install a limit thermostat on low temperature sy-
stems.
The electronics of the appliance gives the possibility to use a seri-
es of functions which optimize the operation in heating and in DHW
and are amply described in the relative chapters.
The boilers have the possibility to be connected to a remote control
panel.
The boiler is fitted with the following safety devices:
Safety valve and water pressure switch intervening in cases of
insufficient or excessive water pressure (max 3 barmin 0.7 bar).
Temperature limit thermostat intervening by putting the boiler
into safety stop if th e temperature in the system exceeds the limit
(102+3°C).
Fumes gauge works by putting the boiler into Safety Stop if the
temperature of the combustion products exceeds the maximum
working temperature in the flue ducts.
Condensate discharge occlusion safety device that blocks the
boiler through the condensate sensor level if the degree of conden-
sate inside the exchanger exceeds the tolerated limit,
Intervention of safety devices indicates a potentially dangerous
boiler malfunction contact the technical assistance service imme-
diately.
The boiler must never be put into service, not even tempo-
rarily, if the safety devices are not working or have been mi-
shandled.
Safety devices must be replaced by the technical assistance
service, using original manufacturer parts only; see the spare
parts catalogue supplied with the boiler.
After repairs carry out a trial ignition.

3 - INSTALLATION REGULATIONS

esidence Condens boilers can be installed in various premises
as long as the combustion product outlet and combustion air intake
are conveyed outside said premises. In this case there is no need
for vents in the room, as the boilers have a combustion system
"sealing" them off from the installation premises.
If instead combustion air is absorbed by the installation premises,
then appropriately sized vents must be installed conforming to
technical standards.
Keep in mind the space required for access to the safety and
adustment systems and for carrying out maintenance obs.
Make sure that the electrical protection of the boiler is ade-
quate for the characteristics of installation premises.
Electrical parts must be placed higher than 500 mm from the
ground for boilers running on combustible gas with specific
weight exceeding that of air.
To position the boiler correctly, bear in mind that:
it must not be fitted over a cooker or other cooking appliance
it is forbidden to leave inflammable substances in the room
suitably insulate heatsensitive walls (e.g.: in wood)
- in order to allow access to the inside of the boiler for routine
maintenance operations, the minimum installation distances
must be observed: at least 50 mm on each side and 200 mm
under the boiler.
The boiler is provided with a standard support plate (fig. 3.2).
For installation, do the following operations:
fix the boiler support plate on the wall and use a plumb tocheck
that it is perfectly horizontal
mark 4 holes (Ø 6 mm) on the wall for fixing the boiler support
plate
- make sure all the measurements are correct and then drill the
holes in the wall using a bit with the diameter previously indica-
ted
fix the plate on the wall by the supplied anchor screws.
FIXING THE BOILER
- Hook the boiler on the plate's supports.

FIXING THE PIPE FITTING COVER

After completing the work of installing the boiler and connecting it
up to the water and gas mains, place the fittings cover (A) into
position so that the studs fit into their slots in the lower part of the
boiler. Fasten down the cover using screw C from the pack with the
boiler documents.
3.1 - Cleaning the system and characteristics of heating cir-
cuit water
After installing a new system or replacing a boiler, clean the hea-
ting system. To ensure the product works correctly, after cleaning,
additivating and/or chemically treating the system (e.g.: antifree-
ze, filmformers, etc.), make sure the characteristics of the water
satisfy the parameters indicated in the table.

4 - HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS

Connect up the pipe fittings and gaskets supplied with the system.
We recommend inserting stop cocks for the heating system as well
as the domestic hot water stop stock when connecting the boiler to
the installations; a kit with heating system cocks and another with
heating cocks with filters are available to this end.
Connect up the brass cocks supplied with the boiler to pipe fittings
and boiler.
The installer is responsible for choosing and installing the sy-
stem's components and must work according to good techni-
cal practices and legislation in force,
If the total hardness of mains water is between 25°F and
50°F, install a domestic hot water treatment kit, the effecti-
veness of the kit is gradually reduced with a total hardness
exceeding 50°F and it is therefore recommended to use a hi-
gher performing apparatus or one for total softening; you still
need to install a suitably sized filter, even with total hardness
below 25°F, if the water comes from mains not perfectly cle-
an/cleanable.
A kit case is available making the work of connecting up each
system quicker, without any useless waste.

5 - INSTALLING THE EXTERNAL PROBE

The correct position of the external probe is essential for the clima-
tic control function to run properly (fig. 20).
The sensor must be installed on an external wall of the building
you want to heat, while taking care to comply with the instructions
below:
It must be fitted on the facade most often exposed to wind, on a
wall facing ORTH or ORTHWEST, and taking care to avoid
direct sunlight.
It must be fitted about 2/3 up the height of the façade.
It must not be near any doors, windows, outlets for air ducts, or
near chimneys or other heat sources.
The electrical connection to the external sensor must be formed
using a twopole cable (not supplied), with a cross-section of 0,5
to 1 mm2 and a maximum length of 30 metres. It is not necessary
to worry about the polarity of the cable for the connection to the
external sensor. Do not form oints in this cable. If a oint has to be
made it must be watertight and adequately protected.
