3.10 Assembly F: Caster Wheels

3.10.1 Replacing the Caster Wheels

CAUTION
Prohibited changes of the wheel size/installation position
Risk of injury or damage due to altered driving characteristics or breakage of load-bearing components
► Only replace wheels with wheels of the same size and use the previous installation position. Changes could
have incalculable effects on the stability of the product when driving.
1) Loosen and remove the caster wheel axle (see Fig. 76, item 1).
2) Remove the caster wheel and replace it with a caster wheel of the same size.
3) Slide the caster wheel axle through the original bore hole in the caster fork and through the caster wheel (see
Fig. 75, item 1).
4) Mount the caster wheel axle with the mounting screw and washer. Tighten the mounting screw.

3.10.2 Replacing the Caster Fork

1) Remove the caster wheel (see previous section).
2) Remove the cover cap on the caster wheel bearing (see Fig. 77, item 1).
3) Loosen the hexagon nut at the top (under the cover cap). Counter-support the hexagon nut below the caster
fork as you do so (see Fig. 77, item 2).
4) Remove the caster fork with caster wheel axle.
5) If necessary: Remove the caster fork from the caster wheel axle. In order to do so, loosen the hexagon nut
above the caster fork (see Fig. 78, item 1). Counter-support the hexagon nut below the caster fork as you do so
(see Fig. 78, item 2).
6) Install the new caster fork on the caster wheel axle. Ensure there is a spring washer between the caster fork
and caster wheel axle (see Fig. 78, item 3). Tighten the hexagon nut with a torque of 30 Nm.
