Configuring the dialpad to alphanumeric dialing

To eliminate the need to press the
when you enter text, you can set the Avaya 1220 IP Deskphone dialpad
default to alphabetic mode.
To set the dialpad to alphabetic mode as the default:

To disable alphabetic mode and set numeric mode as the default:
