6.3 Inserting batteries into the microphones

1
For operation, the microphones require two 1.5 V AA batteries each. Unscrew the screw cap at the
lower end of the microphones and fold out the lid in the battery comportment. Insert two batteries as
indicated in the compartment.
With new batteries, the microphones can be operated for approx. 10 hours. The power indicator shortly
2
lights up after switching on. If the indicator lights up continuously during operation the inserted batteries
are going flat and have to be replaced.
3
If the microphones are not used for a longer period (approx. 1-2 weeks), please remove the batteries to
prevent damage in case of battery leakage. Please refer to further explanations in chapter Safety
Instructions.
Only replace by the same type or similar types recommended by the manufacturer.
Remove empty battery in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer.
Batteries are hazardous waste and should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste!
Please take discharged batteries to a collection center near you.

7. OPERATION

Switch on the receiver with the POWER switch. The POWER indicators of the individual reception
1
channels light up.
To switch on the microphones, set the individual sliding switch to its upper position. The power indicator
2
shortly lights up.
After switching on the microphones, a radio connection to the individual receiver module is set up. The
reception indicators RF of the individual reception channels indicate that a connection exists to the
corresponding microphone.
For optimum receiving:
• maintain a line-of-sight between the microphones and receiver antennas.
• make sure the distance between the microphones and the receiver is not too long.
• make sure the reception is not disturbed by objects in the transmission path; avoid placing the
microphones and the receiver where metal or other dense materials may be present and computers or
other HF-generating equipment (min. 50 cm distance).
Switch on the following audio unit or advance the respective fader on the mixer. Speak into the
3
microphones and match the output level of the individual reception channels to the input of the following
unit with the volume controls. The AF indicators of the reception channels light up when an audio signal
from the corresponding microphone is received.
To mute a microphone during operation, set the sliding switch to its center position. Then no sound will
4
be transmitted.
To switch off the microphones, set the individual sliding switch to its lower position.
5
After operation, switch off the receiver with the POWER switch. The POWER indicators extinguish.
6
CAUTION!
Danger of explosion when battery is replaced improperly.
