Supported Ethernet configurations

The HP StoreOnce Backup system supports a wide range of network configurations. The following
list summarizes configuration details. See
concepts (page 38)
An Ethernet connection is required for backing up to iSCSI VTL devices, for replication and
StoreOnce Catalyst Copy activities, and for all StoreOnce management tasks. It is also required
if you wish to backup to NAS shares and StoreOnce Catalyst stores across ethernet.
The HP StoreOnce Backup system supports IPv4 only.
The HP StoreOnce Backup system may be connected to a virtual LAN and supports VLAN
tagging.
DHCP and static IP addressing are supported.
NOTE:
Network Administrator should permanently associate that IP address with the StoreOnce
Backup system. This association prevents the IP address of the device changing after reboots.
The HP StoreOnce 4900 Backup system has four 1GbE and four 10GbE ports.
Mode 1, 4 and 6 network port bonding is supported on sets of 1GbE and 10GbE ports (but
not across 1GbE and 10GbE ports).
