8 Radio Controls and Indicators
In combination, the radio's LED indicators and
control head display indicators provide you with
visual information on the state of your radio. The
radio indicators are summarized in the following
tables.

LED Indicators

Indicator Name
Call LED
Status LED
Channel LED
Alphanumeric
LED
Monitor LED
Meaning
Steady: Your radio has received a
2-tone or 5-tone call.
Flashing: Your radio received a
call which was not answered.
Your radio is ready for you to
select a status code relating to
your current activity.
Steady: Your radio is ready for
you to enter information to
select a new channel.
Flashing: The current channel is
in repeater talkaround mode.
You can enter information, such
as an alpha symbol label, from
the keypad.
Steady: The signaling mute (if this
option has been programmed)
has been overridden. This may be
because the microphone is off the
microphone clip, or because you
have pressed the monitor key.
Flashing: Monitor key has been
pressed for long enough to over-
ride RF squelch.
Note that when the radio is oper-
ating normally, this indicator is off.
