VL10 is the right choice. Touch Screen Technology The VL10 utilizes a polyester plastic film suspended over a glass panel, which is then adhered to the front of a color LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen. Depressing the polyester film with a finger allows the film to touch the glass panel underneath, generating a location signal that is read by the electronics.
Figure 1-1: Package Contents Movable Swivel Display The VL10 display pivots back 90° on a central axis as shown below in Figure1-2, it also pivots forward 45° from its central axis as shown in Figure1-3. The display rotates up to 330° from stop to stop about the vertical axis, allowing you to view the display from almost anywhere in the room as shown in Figure1-3.
To turn the VL10 off, press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the VL10 shut downs. The second function is to toggle the back light off and on while the VL10 is in operation. This function can be activated by pressing and releasing the power button.
The VL10 can be installed and placed on almost any flat surface such as a desk, table or countertop, or easily mounted underneath a cabinet. Because it folds flat, the VL10 can be tucked neatly out of view when not in use.
System Wiring Wiring The VL10 requires power, Ethernet and optionally, video connections. The VL10 comes with a Precision Panel and a 12’ Cable Assembly to simplify the installation. See Figure 3-1 and Figure 3-2 for more wiring details. Figure 3-1: VL10 Wiring Example ...
Figure 3-2: VL10 Precision Panel Wiring Example Video Termination Switch When the video signal coming into the VL10 Touch panel is to be looped back out of the panel to another Touch Panel or TV, an F connector (VIDEO OUT) is provided. The Video Termination Switch must be moved from the factory default to the OPEN position.
ELAN HOME SYSTEMS Power Supply Options The VL10 Precision Panel allows for power to be supplied from a remote or a local source.
