    The XP8.4 8.4” Wireless Color Touch Panel provides the freedom to control home theater lighting, blinds, drapes, security, HVAC and much more from anywhere in the home using a standard 802.11a/b/g WiFi wireless network.     The SS1 System Station is an RS-232, IR, Sense and Relay controller. It also translates the XP8.4’s 8.02.11b/g WiFi commands into actions that can con- trol system functions including Home Theater or a zone control of an ELAN multi-room system. Future software/feature-set enhancements to the SS1 are field-upgradeable through VIA!TOOLS setup software.

    3.Connections Power Connection The battery recharges when the XP84 is cradled in its docking station. The included 12VDC wall transformer plugs into the rear of the Docking Station. The XP8.4 will operate for approximately 1.5-2 hours of continuous use on a charge of the internal battery, and it can be extended for to up to 6 hours with the hot-pluggable external clip-on battery pack.

This period of continuous operation is extended by approximately 3-4 hours with the exter- nal battery pack that clips (hot-pluggable) onto the back of the XP84.
