Troubleshooting
The device mutes in DAB operation:
In contrast to regular operation, where reception interferences will cause interference noise, DAB is muted if the
reception is bad. This is often due to the station supply being not as well developed yet, in particular in rural areas.
This is not a device problem.
The DAB aerial was placed in an unsuitable place (e.g. too close to the vehicle's sheet metal parts or behind a
metal-vaporised vehicle window). Use a DAB outer aerial if there is no better installation option.
The power supply of the DAB aerial is impaired. Check the connection.
The DAB aerial connection has come loose from the device. Remove the CD tuner and check the connection.
The DAB aerial is defective. Check the earthing and the DAB aerial itself.
Interference noise during radio and CD replay:
Interferences reach the CD tuner via the positive line. Install an additional interference suppression coil into the
positive line. If necessary, also equip the vehicle with spark-plug suppressor sockets, distributor arms etc. to
suppress interferences.
When you press a station button, you only hear hissing:
No station has been programmed. Program the stations as described above.
Every time you switch off the CD tuner, the station programming gets lost:
The continuous positive line is not connected, or has come loose. Connect or check the continuous positive line
as explained in the instructions or check whether the cable is correctly connected. Check the fuse.
The device no longer responds to button commands or displays weird characters:
Reset the device with the RESET button.
Repairs other than those described above must only be carried out by an authorised specialist.
