Replace the bolt assembly and
tighten. Ensure the bolt is firmly

release the lever, the legrest will be locked in
the current position (Fig. 23).

adjusted into a position where it can
interfere with the castors.
WARNING: Keep hands clear of the adjustment mechanism
between the frame and the movable parts of the legrest while
elevating or lowering the legrest.
WARNING: Legrests are not to be used for lifting or carrying
the wheelchair with an occupant.

Integral Control (VR2):
To operate the legrests push the mode switch to select the legrests
and then the up and down button for operating the legrest up or
down. Release the button when the desired angle is reached. Once
the legrest is fully lifted or in its lowest position do not hold the
switch in its operating position as this could damage the actuator.
Remote control (Pilot+):
To operate the legrests push the mode switch to select the
"actuator mode". The wheelchair symbol LED will appear. With the
joystick moved to the left or the right direction you scroll through
the possible actuators fitted. To operate the selected one move the
Joystick forward for the up and backwards for the down operation
of the selected actuator. Release the Joystick when the desired
angle is reached. Once the legrest is fully lifted or in the lowest
position do not move the Joystick in its operating position as this
could damage the actuator. Pressing the mode button again will
bring you back into drive mode.
Footplates
The footplates may be flipped up
to aid entry and exit from the chair.
Do not use the footplates to stand
on as the full weight of your body
may cause the chair to tip for-
wards and damage the footrests
(Fig. 24).

Footrest Warnings
With the leg in an elevated position it is more likely that the
user could injure the leg on obstacles in the environment. Make
sure that you are aware of your terrain and be cautious when
driving the chair that your leg cannot impact on anything
around you.
Do not drive your chair too close to any source of open flame.
With your leg in an elevated position you may not know that
the bottom of the footplate is getting hot.
Do not hang items from the legrest, or allow anyone to stand
on the legrest with it in the elevated or non-elevated position.
This could cause injury to them, to you or could cause damage

to the chair.
Inspect the legrest, footplate, calfpad and heel loop regularly
for signs of damage or wear. Damage to the legrest could result
in the user's leg being dropped and could cause injury.
The use of an ELR can affect the stability of the chair. Be
especially careful when riding up or down slopes.
Depending on the flexibility and strength of the user, it may not
be possible for them to adjust the height of the manual ELR by
themselves. This may need to be carried out by an attendant.
Make sure that the power lead to the ELR are free of all mecha-
nisms to ensure that it does not get trapped and can be pulled
out. If this happens the ELR will stop operating and you may be
trapped in the chair.
