Operating tips
First turn the four-wheel drive control switch to L4 with the center differential
locked to see if you can move forward. If this does not work, use the rear dif-
ferential lock system also.
Be sure to stop the wheels before locking the differential.
Unlock the differential as soon as the vehicle moves out.

For easy unlocking
Slightly turn the steering wheel in either direction while the vehicle is in
motion.

Automatic unlocking feature
The rear differential will also unlock if you turn the four-wheel drive control
switch to H4 or unlock the center differential. Never forget to turn off the
switch after using this feature.

After unlocking the rear differential
Check that the indicator goes off.

When the rear differential is locked

The ABS/Multi Terrain ABS/brake assist do not operate. It is normal oper-
ation for the ABS warning light to be on at this time.

VSC is automatically turned off. (The VSC OFF indicator light will come
on and the "TRC OFF" indicator will come on [non-optitron type meters]
or the TRC OFF will be shown on the multi-information display
type meters].)

: On vehicles with Multi-terrain Select, TRC OFF will be shown only when
the Multi-terrain Select is off
