Maintenance-Free Battery
The top
of the
Maintenance-Free Battery is
permanently
sealed.
You

to add water,
nor is periodic maintenance

battery charge,

Your battery
may
have a
screw-in
type test
indicator
replacing
one of
the
conventional filler
caps.
If
so
equipped,
refer
to
the
illustration

determine charge
of
battery.
Remove aU caps and check fluid
level
every
two months (more
often
in hot
weather
a
nd on
long
tr ips). The flu
id should be at the
bottom
of the
fi
ller
hole.
Do
not overfill.
It
is only
necessary
to
check
the Long Life
battery every 12
months
or
10,000
miles (16
000
km).
If fluid is
added
during freezing weather,
car
should
be driven
several
m
iles
to mix
water and electrolyte to prevent battery
damage due to
freezing.
Battery
should
be clamped
secu rely
in
the
tray. Neutralize corrosion by washing with a
solution of
baking
soda
and water.
Before
washing ba ttery, make sure
vent
caps are
on
securely to
prevent
baking soda
solution from
contaminating
electrolyte.
Rinse away
with clear
water.
