4. Commissioning and Operation

Safety references for the handling

l l l l l Do not run the engine in closed areas , in which dangerous carbon mono xide
can accumulate itself.
l l l l l Always wear safety shoes and long trousers dur ing working. Do not oper ate
the machine bare-footed or in lightweight sandals.
l l l l l Check completely the area, on which the machine is used, and remo ve all
articles, which can be out-thrown by the machine.
l l l l l Only work at daylight or good lighting.
l l l l l Always pay attention to a safe stand on slopes.
l l l l l Only lead the machine in the step speed.
l l l l l Always work transverse to the slope, never slope up or downward.
l l l l l Be particularly careful, if you change the driving direction on slopes.
l l l l l Do not work on excessively steep slopes.
l l l l l Be particularly careful, if you turn the machine around or pull it to itself .
l l l l l When hoeing and tilling on difficult g round (stony, hard etc.) the machine may
give sudden jerking movements in an upward and forward direction and therefore

extra care should be taken under these conditions.

l l l l l Do not change the basic adjustment of the engine or o verspeed the engine.
l l l l l Start the engine carefully according to the instr uctions of the man ufacturer
and respect on sufficient distance from the f eet to the tools.
l l l l l Never lead hands or feet to or under tur ning parts.
l l l l l Never lift or carry the machine with running engine.
l l l l l The engine is to be tur ned off: - if you leave the machine; - before you refuel.
l l l l l Close the fuel tap after w orking.
l l l l l Never keep the machine with petrol in the tank within a b u ilding, in which possibly
petrol vapors with open fire or spar ks can come into contact or catch fire .
l l l l l If the tank is to be emptied, this is to be accomplished outdoor .
l l l l l Let the engine cool down, before you store the machine in closed areas.
l l l l l Replace for safety reasons worn out or damaged par ts.
