FLIGHT CONTROLS

The CC18-180 has conventional controls, operated with a
control stick and rudder pedals and actuated with cables.
There is a trim control for the elevator located on the
lower left side of the cockpit.
The flaps are slotted and a lever (Figure 7-3) on the left
forward side of the cockpit operates the system. It has
three positions, up, first notch, (22º) and full flaps (50º).
The flap lever has a spring latch system that will hold the
flap in the selected position. To extend the flaps, pull
back on the lever. To retract them, press the button on
the end of the lever while simultaneously applying a slight
back pressure. Allow the flaps to retract by keeping the
button pressed. They are spring loaded, and together
with the air loads, they will tend to retract.
