Common cure
for electronic
equipment.
• Make sure to enter your remote access code correctly (see pages 39
and 43).
• Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telephone. When dialing
a number, you should hear tones. If you hear clicks, it is not a touch-
tone telephone and cannot activate the answering system.
• The answering system may not detect the remote access code while
your announcement is playing. Try waiting until the announcement is
over before entering the code.
• There may be noise or interference on the telephone line you are
using. Press dial-pad buttons firmly.
• Make sure answering system is on (see page 36).
• When you record your announcement, make sure you speak in a
normal tone of voice, about nine inches from the telephone base.
• Make sure there is no background noise (TV, music, etc.) while
recording.
If the unit does not seem to be responding normally, try putting the
cordless handset in its charger. If it does not seem to respond, do the
following (in the order listed):
• Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
• Disconnect the cordless handset battery, and spare battery, if appli-
cable.
• Wait a few minutes.
• Connect power to the telephone base and charger.
• Re-install the telephone base and charger and place the cordless
handset into the charger.
• Wait for the cordless handset to re-establish its connection with the
base. To be safe, allow up to one minute for this to take place.
