Troubleshooting

NOTE: You can use Dell Active Pen only with selected Dell computers

Problems
Pen does not work.
Pen does not write and
the barrel buttons do
not work.
Default functions for the
barrel buttons do not
work.
Pressing the top button
for 0.5 second does not
open OneNote.
Possible causes
• Batteries are
installed incorrectly.
• Batteries are out of
charge.
AAAA battery is either
incorrectly installed or
out of charge.
Functions not
supported by
application.
• OneNote is not
installed.
• Pen is not paired
with your device.
• Coin-cell batteries
may be out of
charge.
Possible solutions
• Ensure the batteries
are correctly
installed. For more

Test the barrel buttons
