Piston and Connecting Rod
1. Remove any carbon or ridge at top of cylinder bore
to prevent ring breakage.
2. Remove connecting rod cap bolts
cap.

3. Push piston and rod out through top of cylinder.
4. Remove crankshaft.
Gear Case Disassembly
1. Drain the gear case.

Always loosen the shaft carrier with the
gear case attached to the midsection. The shaft
carrier is
LEFT-HANDTHREAD
4. Remove the drive shaft housing plug. Loosen (do not
remove) the shift rod clamp set screw

5. Remove the nut
Remove the gear case from the midsection.
