As the computer industry grows, PC systems have become more complex to manage.
Manageability software is becoming one of the important requirements for desktop
computers, especially in networked environments. The Desktop Management Interface
(DMI) standard, created by the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF), provides a
industry standard based solution, enabling any DMI-compliant management software to
manage any DMI-enabled desktop computer.
AcerPower desktop computers have been made DMI manageable by providing DMI
Service Provider, DMI-compliant component instrumentation. Many components use
Management Information Format (MIF), such as PC System MIF, so that manageable
system information can be accessed through DMI-compliant management software.
Your AcerPower desktop computer has also been bundled with Intel LANDesk Client
Manager, a DMI-compliant management software.
The LANDesk Client Manager, Client Version, can be used by the client workstation
users to:
Review system inventory.
View DMI-compliant component information.
The LANDesk Client Manager, Administrator Version, can be used by a system
administrator to manage client workstations remotely, as in:
View system inventory, and component information.
Back up and restore the system configuration files.
Make remote troubleshooting easier.
Receive notifications of system events.
Transfer files to and from client workstations.
Remotely reboot client workstations.
Remotely power up client systems.
The LANDesk Client Manager, as well as Acer's DMI-compliant instrumentation, are
based on the DMI v2.0 standards.
