Checking Rh Oven Bake Element Operation - Viking VDSC530 Service Manual

To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect electrical power source to unit, unless test
procedures require power to be connected. Discharge capacitor through a resistor before attempting to service.
Ensure all ground wires are connected before certifying unit as repaired and/or operational.

Checking RH Oven Bake Element Operation

Ensure house breaker or fuse is not open.
Disconnect power to the range.
Access control board assembly and wiring.
Connect power.
240 VAC present on control board connector
P1 red to P1 black?
Yes
RTD open or shorted?
(See fault codes on page 15).
No
Turn oven function selector to bake.
5 VDC present red to black?
Yes
Turn oven function selector to bake.
0.42 VDC present red to white?
4.58 VDC present black to white?
Yes
Turn thermostat to 400°.
5 VDC present orange to blue?
Yes
Turn thermostat to 400°.
3.0 VDC present orange to yellow?
2.0 VDC present blue to yellow?
Yes
240 VAC present on
control board P5 blue to P1 black (outer element)?
control board P5 orange to P1 black (inner element)?
Yes
240 VAC present K17 yellow to P5 blue?
240 VAC present K17 yellow to P5 orange?
No
Replace control board.
