. Disconnect the negat ive
battery
cab
le.

Disconn ect all wiring
harn
esses
and leads at the
rear
of
the
altern ator.

the
terminal with a
wrench
to
prevent the terminal from rotat

remove
the drive belt from the

pulley.

Support

alternator
with
one hand and
remove the

bolts.

Installation is the reverse o
f removal.
Tighten
fasteners
secure ly and
adj
ust drive
belt
tension
(Chapter

fore reconnecting
wiring

the alternator.
NOTE
Make
sure
the rubber boats at the end ofthe
wires fil snugly
over the terminals on the al-
ternator;
otherwise,
the wire end..and
termi-
nal.

tor, starter solenoid.
