Connector Check
The keyboard is connected to the system board by a 19-pin flat cable. Disassemble the system unit
and check the keyboard. Refer to Chapter 5 for instructions on how to disassemble the system unit
and then perform the following checks.
Check 1 Make sure the following cable is firmly connected to the system board.
Keyboard cable
If this cable is not connected, connect it and refer back to Procedure 1. If the prob-
lem still exists, refer to Check 2.
Check 2 The keyboard or keyboard cable may be damaged. Replace the keyboard with a new
one and refer back to Procedure 1. If the problem still exists, refer to Check 3.
Check 3 The keyboard controller on the system board may be damaged. Replace the system
board with a new one.
