10/100 Ethernet Ports
The OS6800-24L switch includes 20 non combo 10/100BaseT RJ-45 ports on the front panel. The
OS6800-48L switch includes 44 non combo 10/100BaseT RJ-45 ports on the front panel. Each copper port
is capable of auto-MDI/MDI-X sensing. For both chassis types, these ports are fully upgradable to 10/100/
1000BaseT through the purchase of a software license. Please contact your Alcatel representative for
further information.
1000 Mbps SFP Ports
The OS6800-U24 switch includes 24 1000 Mbps SFP 10/100/1000BaseT RJ-45 ports on the front panel.
The last four SFP ports are combo ports. In addition, the OS6800-U24 also offers four 10/100/1000 RJ-45
combo ports.
Combo Ports
OmniSwitch 6800 Series switches offer four Gigabit Ethernet combo ports, located on the front panel.
These ports consist of four paired 10/100/1000Base-T and four 1000 SFP ports. Preferences for these ports
are user-configurable. Refer to the "Configuring Ethernet Ports" in the OmniSwitch 6800 Series Network
Configuration Guide for complete details.
SFP combo ports support full duplex mode only. Depending on the configuration, redundancy can be
provided if the link status fails.
Stacking Ports
All OmniSwitch 6800 Series except for the OS6800-U24 have two built-in stacking ports, providing 10
Gbps full-duplex bandwidth per stacking port. The switches also support a fault-tolerant looped stacking
configuration.
