USING YOUR BARBECOOK ® FOR

THE FIRST TIME

When using your barbecook ® for the first
time, we strongly recommend allowing it to
burn for half an hour on full power before you
start preparing food.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use newspaper, wood-chips and/or bar-
becook ® fire-lighters to light the charcoal
or logs.
2. Place the spit and spit-motor (4W,
220V~50 Hz) on your barbecue once it is
ready for use. Depending on the size and
shape you can use the spit forks or the
grill basket to clamp food in. The maximum
admissible food weight is 10 kg.
4. Open the cover and pull the spit tray to-
wards you to regulate the heat intensity.
5. Use logs as fuel, especially if your barbe-
cook ® is being used as a terrace heater.
USEFUL TIPS AND SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS
1. This appliance must only be used in the
open air.
2. Always place the barbecue on a firm base,
away from inflammable objects and objects
liable to melt.
3. The capacity of the furnace of your barbe-
cook ® is approximately 10L. Do not use
too much charcoal in the furnace (max.
50%).
4. This barbecue can get very hot. Never
move the barbecue during use.
5. Never use alcohol or petrol for lighting or
stoking up the barbecue.
6. Keep children and animals a safe distance
away from the barbecue.
7. To be completely safe, we recommend that

you always have a bucket of water or sand
to hand near the barbecue when it is alight.
8. Never grill in the flames. Wait until the
charcoal is covered with a fine layer of ash.
9. Always use clean, dry charcoal which com-
plies with standard DIN 51749 or logs with
an average diameter of 7 cm and length of
20 cm.
10. The guarantee does not cover you
against failure to take the following into
account:
• Metal and/or sharp objects can damage
the enamel.
• Avoid using detergents which are too
strong or scouring detergents and scour-
ing sponges or metal sponges. Use a
brush or nylon sponge instead.
• The barbecue should not be knocked or
bumped against any hard surfaces. This
damages the enamel.
GUARANTEE
Your barbecook ® comes with a two year
guarantee against all manufacturing defects.
This guarantee applies from the date of pur-
chase, provided it is used in accordance with
these instructions. Your till receipt specifying
the date pf purchase is your certificate of
guarantee.
This barbecook ® is not suitable for commer-
cial use.
Any wear, rusting, deformation and dis-
colouration (in particular with the stainless
steel models) of parts directly exposed to
the flames are normal and under no circum-
stances can they be considered as manu-
facturing defects: this is the logical result of
these parts being used.

STORAGE OF THE APPLIANCE

After each use, all the chrome parts and the
spit-motor must be stored inside and in a dry
place.
