4. Joystick operation

REMINDER: Before using the system, ensure that the bow thruster light is illuminated (see above)
once the boat's engine is startedCheck that the bow thruster indicator light is showing steady green
when the joystick is in operation.
The joystick is on STAND-BY: This means that it is ready for use.
The «Ready» LED is a steady red. The engine is controlled by the engine control lever.
Place a hand on the joystick and press the button for 1 second. The green LEDs illuminate
when the button is released.
The 2 LEDs are illuminated as steady green lights (not flashing).
The joystick is operational, the control lever is out of action.
The wheel turns to lock the helm and rudder along the longitudinal axis of the boat.
Be careful to keep arms clear of wheel as it turns.
The pilot display shows =
«MOTORISED HELM» version RAYMARINE.
POWER version SIMRAD.
The indicator light on the bow thruster control panel is showing steady green.
Whenever an instruction is given to the joystick (here in forward) the LED «control»
illuminates red.

- If you activate the joystick while the rudder blade
is not in the same position as the boat's axis, it
will automatically move itself to the correct
position.

- The wheel will spin quickly and may catch your
arm, clothes, hands as it does so: keep away
from the wheel when the system is running.

the joystick.
