5.8 Stack cables

This section describes the structure and technical specifications of a stack cable.
Applications
The S5700 uses PCI-E cables or SFP+ stack cables to connect stack interfaces on the ETPC card
or the specified interfaces. The S5700s connected with stack cables form a logical switch to
forward packets.

Criterion
Optical module type
l The optical transmitting module of the multitransverse mode is
connected to the multimode fiber.
l The optical transmitting module of the single-longitudinal mode or
multi-longitudinal mode is connected to the single mode fiber.
NOTE
If the optical fiber jumper is used, the connector connected to the device must be
the LC/PC connector, and the connector connected to the remote end must be of
the same type as the remote end interface.
l Cube: SC/PC, LC/PC, and MTRJ/PC
l Column: ST/PC and FC/PC
NOTE
The two ends of a stack cable are covered by ESD caps.
