To prevent injuries, do not connect a power cable while the power is on.
Connecting a Power Cable
An AC terminal locking latch can prevent an AC power cable from failing or loosening. Secure an AC
cable with an AC terminal locking latch, as shown in the following figure.

6 Laying Cables

Never look directly into an optical port. Optical fibers emit laser radiation that can cause eye damage.
The power cables must be more than 10 cm away from signal cables.
When a large number of cables need to be connected, arrange the cables in the cabinet, and then
install cable connectors.
Grounding helps protect a switch from lightning, electromagnetic interference, and electrostatic discharge. A
PoE switch must be grounded before it provides power for a powered device (PD).
Connecting a ground cable: Connect the M4 lug of the ground cable to the ground screw of the switch, and
connect the M6 lug of the ground cable to the ground point of a cabinet or rack, or to a ground bar.
By default, no ground cable is delivered with a non-PoE switch. To ground a non-PoE switch using a ground
cable, purchase the ground cable separately.
