Installing Drives
Cable Connections
Refer to Figure 8.3 for the following steps.
D
Install one of the four connectors coming from the power supply
into the 4-pin plug on the left side of the new drive. This connector
can only be installed one way due to the beveled corners.
D
Position the ribbon cable assembly connected to the first disk drive
as shown, and install the connector on the disk drive circuit board
of the new drive. If Winchester drive cables are disconnected, re­
attach the cables to the Winchester.
D
Replace the cover following the instructions in Cover Replacement.
D
Remove the cardboard shipping insert from the drive before turning
on the computer.
NOTE: Before using your computer, the SETUP program must be run.
Refer to The SETUP Program section in Chapter 1 of this manual.
