Wheel: Raise and lower the grill rack (see Figure
7:C) by rotating the wheel (A). The mechanism
uses a ratchet to hold the rack in position. The
rack can be raised by rotating the wheel counter-
clockwise (pull down on the front of the wheel
rim). The ratchet must be released in order to
lower the rack.
Always wear protective gloves when operating
the wheel. It can become hot when the grill is
in use.
B.
Ratchet Arm: Lift the ratchet arm (B) fully to
disengage the ratchet and lower the grill rack (see
Figure 7:C). A bronze brake pad is integrated into
the ratchet arm to help control the descent of the
grill rack, but it is very important to never let the
wheel spin freely while the rack descends. Always
maintain control of the wheel.
IMPORTANT: Always use the wheel to lower the grill rack. Do not let the
wheel spin freely as the rack lowers.
IMPORTANT: Never release the ratchet arm while the wheel is in
motion. Stop the wheel first, then lower the arm.
C. Grill Rack: Raise and lower the grill rack to control
the intensity of the heat above the fire.
D. Upper Grill Rack Stop: Stops are located on both
uprights at the maximum height position for the
grill rack. Do not force the grill rack into the stops.
