11.7 Adjust the angular field of view using the extra
optical zoom function
Click the [Setup>>] button of "Extra optical zoom" on the [Image quality] tab of the "Image/Audio" page.

It is possible to adjust the angular field of view using the extra optical zoom function.
•
: Click this button to adjust the zoom ratio to the "Wide" side.
•
: Click this button to set the zoom ratio to x1.0.
•
: Click this button to adjust the zoom ratio to the "Tele" side.

Note
•
When "2 mega pixel [16:9]" is selected for "Image capture mode", the maximum zoom ratio is x3.0.
•
When "1.3 mega pixel [16:9]" or "1.3 mega pixel [4:3]" is selected for "Image capture mode", the
maximum zoom ratio is x2.0.
•
When "3 mega pixel [4:3]" is selected for "Image capture mode", the maximum zoom ratio is x3.2.
IMPORTANT
•
The extra optical zoom function may not be activated on the appropriate position if the setting for the
function is performed after the settings for the mask areas (®page 97), privacy zone (®page 104),
VMD area (®page 121), VIQS area (®page 106), cropping area (®page 133), picture in picture
cropping area (®page 134). To prevent this, perform the setting for the extra optical zoom function
before other settings.

When using the lens distortion compensation function, if the extra optical zoom function is used, the
lens distortion compensation function is disabled.
