PROBLEM

TROUBLESHOOTING CHARTS

Range
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. The power supply cord is unplugged.
2. A household fuse or circuit breaker
has opened.
1. The control knob is not set correctly.
2. On ceramic glass models, the
"Cooktop Lockout" is set to On.
1. The cookware is not the proper size
for the burner element being used.
1. Does the hot surface indicator remain
on after the control knob is off?
1. Improper cookware.
2. Control is not set for the proper heat
level.
3. The appliance is not level.
1. The electronic oven control is not
properly set.
2. A "delay start" has been set.
3. If installed, the Control Lock is set.
1. The oven temperature needs to be
calibrated.
2. On some models, the cooling fan
runs during the Bake, Broil, or Clean
operation.
1. Possible defective indicator or elec-
tronic oven control.
SOLUTION
1. Plug the power cord into a grounded
outlet.
2. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit
breaker.
1. Push in on the control knob to set it.
2. Program the "Cooktop Lockout" to Off
(see "Cooktop Lockout" in the Use &
Care Guide).
1. Use the proper size cookware. Cook-
ware should not extend more than 1
inch (2.5 cm) outside the cooking area.
1. The hot surface indicator will remain
on as long as the cooktop glass is too
hot to touch.
1. Use the proper cookware (see "Cook-
ware" in the Use & Care Guide).
2. Set the control for the proper heat level
(see "Cooktop Controls" in the Use &
Care Guide).
3. Level the appliance.
1. Set the electronic oven control to its
correct setting (see "Electronic Oven
Control" in the Use & Care Guide).
2. Turn off the "delay start" (see "Timed
Cooking" in the Use & Care Guide).
3. Turn off the Control Lock feature (see
"Control Lock" in the Use & Care
Guide).
1. Calibrate the oven (see "Oven Tem-
perature Control" in the Use & Care
Guide).
2. It is normal for the fan to automatically
run when the oven is in use to help
cool the electronic oven control.
1. See "Oven Indicator Lights" in the Use
& Care Guide. If the oven indicator
lights keep flashing, replace the elec-
tronic oven control.
