DUAL TONE MULTI-FREQUENCY (DTMF) FUNCTIONS (U.S.A./ CANADA ONLY)

You can send DTMF tones by using the DTMF keys on

the MC-53DM microphone. The keypad includes the
3
12 keys found on a push-button telephone plus
4 additional keys (A, B, C, D). These additional keys are
4
required for various control operations by some repeater
5
systems.

MAKING DTMF CALLS

1 Press and hold Mic [PTT].

2 Press the keys in sequence on the keypad to send
10
DTMF tones.

• The corresponding DTMF tones are transmitted.

• Your transceiver remains in the transmit mode for
2 seconds after you release each key. So you can
13
release Mic [PTT] after beginning to press keys.

Autopatch

Some repeaters in the U.S.A. and Canada offer a
service called Autopatch. Autopatch allows you to
access the public telephone network by sending
DTMF tones. Some repeaters require a special key
sequence to activate Autopatch. Check with the
repeater control operator.

Mic Keypad Confirmation Tones

When pressing the desired keys on the microphone
keypad, this function produces feedback tones for
your confirmation.
1 Press [MNU] to enter Menu mode.
2 Select Menu No. 28 (DT.MN).
3 Press [OK] , then turn the Tuning control to switch
the function ON or OFF (default).
4 Press [OK] again to complete the setting and exit
Menu mode.
