Personalizing your phone
Local phone book:
Aside from the system phone book, your Aastra SIP phone also has a local phone
book. This can be assigned to a function key.
Contacts saved in this local phone book are only available on your Aastra SIP phone.
The search functions in the system phone book (quickdial and dialling by name) do
not search in the local phone book. If your system administrator logs you out as a user
from the Aastra 400 communication system, then this local phone book is deleted.
The local phone book is not supported by the Aastra 400 communication system. We
therefore recommend not using this local phone book.

Configuring voice mail

This section explains how to set your voice mail.
Managing personal greeting
Depending on the system configuration you have the possibility to record up to 3 dif-
ferent greetings (e.g.for Absent or Vacation). Give each greeting the relevant name.
Depending on the system configuration a caller may or may not be able to leave a
message (for the symbols see mode).
If no personal greeting is activated or if none is available, the global greeting is acti-
vated automatically, provided it has been recorded. For further information on voice
