Symptom
RIP software error on startup.
Scanner repeatedly gives the user
a "Scan Locked Power off and
Restart" message when the
scanner is actually unlocked.
Scanner repeatedly reports 290
error.
E-mail symptoms
Symptom
Scanner runs, mail confirmation
failure.
Weblink fails.
Action
1. Check the connections on all
cables to the RIP card to the SCU
card.
2. Check for loose connectors, bent
or broken pins on the connectors.
Ensure the individual wires are
secure in the connector.
3. Check connector J32 on RIP card.
• Pin 1 should be +5 V
• Pin 4 should be +24 V
• Pins 2 and 3 are ground
If they pass, check continuity on the
power cable connecting the RIP card
to the SCU.
If they fail, replace the RIP card.
If the cable checks out, replace the
SCU.
If it fails, replace the cable.

1. Check that the FTP server is on
