Placing a Multipoint Call

(Three or More video Sites at One Time)

A multipoint video call must be connected through an external device called a
video bridge. If you do not have a video bridge at your company, you must
use a bridge service provider for these calls. In most cases, service providers
require certification of each unit involved in the call as well as 48 hours notice
for the reservation.
Tips & Tricks #11-15
Here are some general multipoint videoconferencing tips.
#11 All sites should be certified with the bridging service.
It is suggested that the certifications be completed
prior to the first scheduled bridge call.
#12 Continuous Presence requires a specific feature on the bridge. If you
are interested in conducting your conference via this method you must
specifically request it at the time the call is scheduled with the bridge
service.
#13 It is recommended that a test call be conducted prior to the conference.
#14 Upon calling into the bridge for your conference, identify your site and
confirm that you have a clean connection.
#15 Ensure that your microphone is muted if you are not the current
speaker.
