End-User Training Guide: ViewStation
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS
Symptoms
Web browser does not allow
you to show PowerPoint
presentations from the PC to
the ViewStation.
PowerPoint presentation does
not export.
Can not connect to the PC from
the ViewStation for a
presentation. The PC name is
there, but you can not access
the PC presentation when you
press the Slide button.
Snapshots and presentations
can not be viewed, although the
PC has access to the main
Web page of the ViewStation.
Can not view presentation or
snapshots from the Web.
Cause
Wrong version of web
browser.
Wrong version of
Microsoft Office.
Insufficient disk space.
Incorrect password.
Firewall between the
ViewStation and the PC.
Too many presenters are
logged on. The
ViewStation allows a
maximum of 8 presenters
or 8 PCs to be logged on
at one time.
Too many presenters are
logged on. The
ViewStation allows a
maximum of 15 viewers
to view via web browser.
Security level is currently
set to "high" in the
browser you are using.
Wrong version of Web
browser.

Solution
To present PowerPoint
slides, you must use
Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 3.02 (or higher) on
a PC that has Windows 95
or Windows NT
Workstation. (Currently this
function does not support
Netscape Navigator or
Netscape Communicator).
To export PowerPoint
presentations you must use
a PC that has Microsoft
Office 97.
Slides are converted to
JPEG format and are
stored in the
c:\windows\temp directory
on your PC. Create more
space on your hard drive by
deleting unwanted files.
Enter correct password
(must be the same
password you entered on
the PC).
Consult your IT department
manager.
Ask extra presenters to
disconnect.
Ask extra viewers to
disconnect.
Change the slide-viewing
password on the Security
screen to allow viewing
access only to authorized
viewers.
Lower the security level in
the browser to "Medium" or
"None".
For viewing snapshots or
slides from the Web, the
ViewStation supports
Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 3.02 or higher. The
ViewStation also supports
Netscape Navigator 4.0 or
higher for viewing.
