RS-485 Card
Note: Before attempting to handle the RS-485 card, read "Handling Static Sensitive
Devices " , on page 4-1.
Removal
1. Remove the front cover using the procedure on page4-3.
2. Remove the side cover using the procedure on page 4-6.
3. Remove the rear cover using the procedure on page 4-8.
4. Unplug any external Micro Channel cable and the external fan power connector.
5. Put the system unit in a horizontal position.
6. Unscrew the three RS-485 card back connector retaining screws on the back of the
system.
7. Unplug any external and internal RS-485 card connector.
8. Unscrew the RS-485 card retaining screw on the inside of the system and slide the card
out of the unit by gripping its edges. It is strongly recommended that you do not touch the
board components. Handle the card gripping it by its edges.
