Operator Panel

Attention: After the operator panel is installed and the system is powered–up, the system
ID is down-loaded to the operator panel from a backup source within the system. This ID
becomes permanent on the operator panel and cannot be altered without special tools.
Therefore, the operator panel cannot be transferred to another system. It must be returned
to the plant of manufacture as a new defective.
Attention: System Planar and operator panel EEPROMs contain the SYSID of the system.
When one of the two components is to be replaced (for example the System Planar), the
SYSID information will be copied from the operator panel EEPROM into the System Planar
EEPROM when you start the system.
To avoid loosing this information, it is not possible to replace both components at the same
time.
When both components are to be replaced, proceed as follows:
1. First substitute the operator panel and start up the system: the SYSID information will be
copied from System Planar EEPROM to the operator panel EEPROM.
2. Substitute the System Planar and start up the system: the SYSID information will be
copied from operator panel EEPROM to the System Planar EEPROM.
Removal
1. Remove the front cover, following the procedure described on page 4-3.
2. Remove the operator panel retaining screws located on the front of the operator panel.
