7) Stretch

Stretch tuning is a piano-specific tuning method in which the tuning for the lower notes is slightly lower and the
tuning for the higher notes is slightly higher than the settings made in the Equal temperament. The Stretch setting
allows the degree of stretch tuning to be adjusted when Equal (piano) or Equal temperament are selected. It is
also possible to create custom tuning methods using one of the four User types.

TYPE : Selects the type of stretch tuning.
To create a User Stretch tuning:
Step 1
On the Stretch screen, touch the EDIT button.
The User Stretch screen will be displayed.
Step 2
Touch the KEY field and use the Dial or press a key to select the note to edit.

KEY : Selects the key to be adjusted.
TUNING : Adjusts the pitch of the selected
key.
Step 3
Touch the TUNING field and Use the Dial to change the stretch tuning value.
The value is represented in cents above or below Equal temperament and ranges from -50 to +50.
Step 4
Touch the SAVE button to save the User Stretch tuning.
Stretch tuning is turned Off for all instrument sounds.
Stretch tuning is set to Normal for piano sounds only*.
Stretch tuning is set to Wide for piano sounds only.*
Stretch tuning is set to Normal for all instrument sounds.
Stretch tuning is set to Wide for all instrument sounds.
A custom stretched tuning applied to piano sounds only*.
If Piano Normal/Piano Wide is selected, the tuning for any other active sounds layered with a piano sound will be stretched
to match the piano. If no piano sound is active the tuning for any active sounds will not be stretched.
MENU : Takes you to the Virtual Technician menu.
EDIT : Edit the selected User Stretch Tuining.
BACK : Takes you to the Temperament menu.
SAVE : Saves the User Temperament.
