RECOIL STARTER
7. Install:
D Spring (drive plate)
D Spring seat
D Drive plate
D Special washer
D Washer
D Spring washer
D Nut
NOTE:
Be sure the cutout portion in the drive plate fits
over the post on the drive pawl.
Nut (drive plate):
10 Nm (1.0 mDkg, 7.2 ftDlb)
LOCTITE
8. Pull about four inches of starter rope from out
of the cutout portion in the sheave drum, and
rotate the sheave drum five times counter-
clockwise to preload the starter spring.
Then knot the rope end so that it will not be
pulled into the recoil starter case.
9. Install:
D Recoil starter
D Starter handle
Bolt (recoil starter):
10 Nm (1.0 mDkg, 7.2 ftDlb)
10. Check the starter for smooth operation. If it
does not operate smoothly, repair it.
