INSPECTION

1. Inspect:
D Upper air shroud 1
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
2. Inspect:
D Cooling fan grill 1
D Cooling fan housing 2
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
3. Inspect:
D Cooling fan belt 1
Wear/cracks/damage ! Replace.
4. Inspect:
D Cooling fan 1
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
D Bearings (cooling fan housing) 2
Pitting/damage ! Replace.
Replacement steps:
D Remove the bearing(s) 2 using a general
bearing puller.
D Install the new bearing(s).
NOTE:
Use a socket 3 that is the same size as the out-
side diameter of the race of the bearing race.
CAUTION:
Do not strike the inner race 4 or ball bear-
ings 5 . Contact only the outer race 6 .
