Version Upgrade

Overview

The firmware of this machine is upgraded by downloading the firmware from a personal
computer (PC) to this machine using a user support tool (UST).
CAUTION:
The firmware of the Engine Controller PCB is stored in ROM on the board, and the data
cannot be changed.
The firmware can be upgraded by replacing the PCB.
As for the Main Controller PCB, version upgrade using UST is available.

Preparation

■ System Requirements

• OS (one of the following)
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/Professional (32-bit only)
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional/Home Edition
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003
• Microsoft Windows Vista
• Microsoft Windows 7
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008
• Mac OS X 10.3 or later
• PC
• Compatible to the selected OS
• Memory (RAM): 32MB or more free space
• Hard Disk: 100MB or more free space
• Display: 640x480 pixels or more in resolution, 256 tones or more
• With USB ports
• UST file for this product*
*: Download the corresponding file from the system CD or the service site (ask the service
technician in charge for details)
• USB cable (USB1.1/2.0)

■ Preparation
1) Start the PC.
2) Install the printer driver to the PC.

3) Connect the device to the PC with the USB cable.
4) Turn ON the power of the machine and let it into standby mode.
5) Enter service mode, and select download mode.
Note:
Press STOP key to stop Download mode and return to the normal operation.
