Formatting will erase all the data. As such,
before formatting a recorded disc, make sure
the disc does not contain important
recordings.

Brand new DVD-RAM or DVD-RW discs
may also need to be formatted.

To use a DVD-R disc in VR mode, format the
new disc in VR mode. (It will be in Video
mode when not formatted.)

Never turn off the unit or disconnect the AC power
cord while ANOW FORMATTING...B is displayed on
the TV screen.

All the titles on a disc will be deleted once the disc is
formatted even if they are protected titles. [
