DHCP
When you click
The Server configuration determines the functionality of your DHCP Settings. This functionality enables
the Gateway to assign your LAN computer(s) a "private" IP address and other parameters that allow
network communication. This feature simplifies network administration because the Gateway maintains
a list of IP address assignments. Additional computers can be added to your LAN without the hassle of
configuring an IP address. This is the default mode for your Gateway.
K Router IP Address: Specifies the IP address of the Gateway itself.
K Subnet Mask: Specifies the common Class C subnet.
K DHCP Start Address: Specifies the first address in the DHCP address range. You can reserve a
sequence of up to 253 IP addresses within a subnet, beginning with the specified address, for
dynamic assignment.
K DHCP End Address: Specifies the last address in the DHCP address range.
K DHCP Lease: Specifies the default length for DHCP leases issued by the Gateway. Enter lease time
in dd:hh:mm:ss (days/hours/minutes/seconds) format.
K DHCP Server Enable: Uncheck this setting if you already have a DHCP server on your LAN. This
enables the DHCP server in this Gateway.
K Additional IP Subnets: When you click the Additional IP Subnets button, the IP Subnets screen
appears.
One subnet is preconfigured by default.
