Turning On the Fluid System When Bypassed

To turn on the fluid system when it has been bypassed, press CLEAN
PRINTHEAD. The CLEAN PRINTHEAD light flashes during the cleaning
cycle and then goes off. The STANDBY light goes out when the clean
cycle stops. The operator must press STANDBY to power up the system
for operation.
You may want to print a test pattern to ensure that print quality is
satisfactory (See Chapter 3, "Troubleshooting".)

Idle Time Guidelines

You can leave the printer on indefinitely without printing; however, if
leaving the printer idle for more than 1 hour, you can extend ink life by
following the guidelines in Table 2.3.

Press STANDBY to turn off fluid system. After a printhead
shutdown, the eyelid closes. Press CLEAN PRINTHEAD
and STANDBY to start up again.

Press PRINTER ON to turn off fluid system and printer.
Press PRINTER ON and STANDBY to restart.

Turning Off the Fluid System

To turn off the fluid system, press STANDBY. During power down, the
STANDBY light flashes at a faster rate than it does at power up; the
STANDBY goes off when the fluid system is completely powered down.
No ink remains in the printhead. The printer can be left in this state for up
to 3 hours.

Turning Off the Printer and the Fluid System

To turn off the printer and the fluid system, press PRINTER ON. The
PRINTER ON and STANDBY lights flash rapidly and go off when power-
off is complete (approximately 1 minute).

Clearing Errors

When an error is detected, the ERROR light comes on. If the error is an
inkjet short (IJ-42) error, the ERROR light flashes. To clear an error, press
OPEN EYELID. The printer state remains the same.
