The Intel
Server Management 5.x release includes a number of tools and features to simplify the deployment and
maintenance of Intel servers, including:
•
Configuration Wizard: The Configuration Wizard integrates the functions of several tools into a single wizard-
driven utility used to configure the service partition along with various firmware and BMC communication settings
on the server.
•
Installation Wizard: The Installation Wizard significantly simplifies installing Intel Server Management; it
provides advanced customization features, and can be installed on multiple servers from a single console.
•
Service Partition: The service partition stores a set of management and diagnostic tools for use when the primary
operating system is unavailable or off-line.
•
Auto-configuration utility: The auto-configuration utility is used exclusively with Linux, and can automatically
configure the remote management functions of the BMC.
•
Language localization: The installation console determines the local machine language and loads the appropriate
resource files. If no resources associated with the current language are available, US English resources are installed
by default.
