Downloading Firmware

• Firmware is upgraded by means of the memory card (IC card).
NOTE
• The External Panel Controller is used on the PC to upgrade firmware.
• NEVER remove or insert the memory card with the printer power turned ON.
1. With the Power Switch in the OFF position, unplug the power cord from the power out-
let.
3. Using the Cross-cable, connect the serial port of the printer to the serial port of the PC.
7. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and turn ON the Power Switch.
✽ The "Firmware Download" dialog box will appear on the External Panel Controller
screen. In about 30 sec., downloading will automatically start.
2. Remove one screw and the metal bracket.

4. Start the External Panel Controller on the PC.
5. Select "Firmware Download" and click "OK."
Then, the initial startup screen will appear.

6. Insert the memory card into the slot.
