Preparation

The parallel cable only serves for PCL and GDI print. Use the serial cable
to operate the optional fax software for sending, receiving, scanning and
printing with the standard fax resolution. Scanning with the serial cable is
done by an optional TWAIN driver. The parallel cable must not exeed 3
meters in length. Only use shielded cables.

Placing the ferrite cores

Ferrite corres ensure that radio interference does not disturb the data
transmission. Afix the cores to the connection cable as described below.
If you use the serial interface, you only need to use the ferrite core, if the
cable is longer than 3 meters.
The ferrite core is available as follows: Order no. 0700-0056-01
(Kitegawa).

Place the cable in the ferrite
core. Place the core close to the
jack.

Close the core.
